1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and improve your experience. Cookies may be:
- Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser;
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them;
- First-party — set by the site you are visiting;
- Third-party — set by external services that operate content on the page (for example, embedded videos).
"Similar technologies" include web storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), tracking pixels, fingerprinting, and SDKs. This Policy covers all of them where applicable.
2. Cookies We Use Today
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for basic functionality and cannot be disabled without breaking the site. Under GDPR and similar laws, essential cookies do not require consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
cookie_consent |
Stores your cookie-consent preference so any future consent banner is not shown again. | 12 months |
session / sid (SaaS only) |
Maintains your authenticated session in My Pixie Suite applications. | Session (or up to 30 days for "remember me") |
csrf_token (SaaS only) |
Prevents cross-site request forgery on authenticated actions. | Session |
Cloudflare security cookies (e.g., __cf_bm) |
Bot detection and security — set by Cloudflare for all sites behind our CDN. | 30 minutes to 24 hours |
Analytics Cookies
Currently none. We do not actively use analytics cookies on our marketing websites. If we add analytics in the future (for example, privacy-focused cookieless analytics or Google Analytics), this Policy will be updated, cookies will be listed in the table above, and — where required — consent will be requested before placement.
Advertising / Behavioral Cookies
Currently none. We do not use advertising, retargeting, or behavioral tracking cookies (for example, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads) on our marketing websites. If we add them in the future, a consent banner will be presented to visitors in jurisdictions where consent is required, and pixels will not fire until consent is given.
3. Third-Party Services and Embedded Content
Our websites may link to or embed content from third-party services that set their own cookies on the domains they control. We do not control these cookies.
- YouTube — Video embeds on our sites are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode (
youtube-nocookie.comwhere supported) and lazy-loaded to minimize cookie placement until you interact with a video. YouTube may set cookies when a video is played. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy. - Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music — Streaming service links. No cookies are set unless you click through to those platforms.
- Amazon / Kindle — Book purchase links. Outbound links only; no cookies set on our side.
- Social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads) — Profile links are plain outbound links. We do not embed widgets that set cookies.
- Stripe (SaaS checkout only) — Stripe's payment elements set their own cookies during checkout, governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the data practices of any third-party service. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
4. How We Will Handle Consent (When Non-Essential Cookies Are Added)
When CNG Studios introduces non-essential cookies — such as analytics, advertising pixels, or behavioral trackers — we will:
- Update this Cookie Policy with the specific cookies, purposes, and durations;
- Deploy a consent banner to visitors in jurisdictions that require consent (EU/UK/EEA, Brazil, and US states with applicable laws);
- Offer Accept and Reject controls of equivalent prominence and ease;
- Honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal automatically as an opt-out of sale/sharing;
- Provide a persistent "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer so you can change your choice at any time;
- Ensure non-essential cookies are not placed until consent is affirmatively given (or, in opt-out jurisdictions, until the user has had a reasonable opportunity to opt out).
5. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored on your device;
- Delete some or all cookies;
- Block all cookies, or only third-party cookies;
- Set preferences for specific websites.
Browser-specific instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Blocking essential cookies may break functionality (for example, you may be unable to stay signed in to SaaS applications).
6. Newsletter
We operate a self-hosted email newsletter via our own Listmonk instance. When you subscribe:
- Your email address is stored on our servers with your explicit consent (16+ age affirmation required at signup);
- No cookies are placed on your device as part of the subscription process;
- Newsletter emails may contain standard tracking pixels to measure open rates and click-through — this is standard practice for email marketing;
- You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us directly.
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal where applicable law requires. If your browser transmits a GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of "sale" and "sharing" of your personal information for your browser/device.
Because legacy "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals lack industry consensus, we do not currently respond to DNT headers differently from GPC.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes — particularly the addition of non-essential cookies — we will update the "Last updated" date and present a consent banner where required. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
